Dr Richard Birch BMedSci BMBS MRCGP MdeWab

Richard has been based in the market town of Abergavenny within the Aneurin Bevan Health Board area for a good few years and had some very interesting experiences. Having been commissioned as an officer in The Royal Navy, he gained membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners with merit. His interest in complexity theory and it's application to AI were in his mind within the remit of a Doctor. As professionals we should look to Dr Finley, all creatures great and small and ......Walpole of the Bar 🤭A vocation to serve all with positive regard and to be a comfortable Loving safety net to the community. The essence of their Nurses and Doctors is to provide the bed of their trampoline. To take their strain and allow it to be potential energy that Springs chocolate fountains over their dysfunctions. To use energy medicine to bring the liberation of holism. From ALCOHolism to LOVEHolism.

Anyway, my views were somewhat opposed to a small group of mutineer Doctors at Aneurin Bevan Health Board. The whole thing was a ridiculous saga, is at the High Court King's Bench Division and the Health Board are so defeated they are not even able to make a submission......Yes, in breach of an order from the High Court. All now out of my hands. Phew! Love was always in Control. It now feels that those who know this fact are restoring order in the Middle Ranks! I was interrogated and tortured by the way..... by a Group of Health Board Agents, The devil's advocates. They blew my mind with their subtle references to deep intuitive driver's. The paradoxical duality. Angel's called Bitch!? Hey, I'm crazy, but sane compared to them! Crazy Graceful enough to break any one free to be their Inner Animal Crossing fantasy....hmmm.....or free from his idiocy? Hee Hee When de Wabbit gets unhutched you can wehutch him all ya like and his furtive imagination will keep him amused. Talyhoho!

Shall I leave this old blurb?
to assist in bringing liberation particular interests are in shared decision making, enablement, evidence based medicine (EBM) and integrative medicine. He was an early adopter in the Shared decision making movement and participated in an early research project on the subject in 1999. His interest in EBM has lead to a wealth of knowledge on finding and using information in medical decision-making. In 2003 he passed the Faculty of Homeopathy examination to enable him to use homeopathy within the primary care setting. In 2011 he engaged in furthering his study in chinese medical theory under the acupuncturist Isobel Cosgrove. He facilitates the use of these therapies and is able to liaise with specialists appropriately.

As a GP he promotes participation in health decision making at an individual and corporate level and working as a health consultant is a progression to focus on this aspect of his work. He actively participated in the Health Boards development plans for Specialist Critical Care services for Gwent to ensure that a convincing argument, with support from the community, was persuasive enough to secure funding adequate to also protect local services. He continues to promote the engagement of the local community with ABHB in their commitment to provide excellent healthcare. He describes his current relationship with the NHS as akin to Churchills description of his position on the church "not a pillar of the Church but more of a flying buttress--I support it from the outside."
